Sorry for not posting for a couple of days. First, I was hiking. Then, I got sick from hiking in the cold. Now, I’m still a little under the weather but better enough to be typing on my laptop.
Still on a long search for a job, I’ve had a little bit more time to play video games. I love playing video games, don’t get me wrong. But I also enjoy making money at a job, which I would probably prefer to do as of now. I play on Xbox and PC/Mac, but I would love to play PS games eventually. I’m also not spending $500 minimum on a new console when mine works fine.
Lethal Company
One of my favorite games of 2023, Lethal Company has gotten so much better with mods. I was hesitant to mod the game at first, simply because I’m not much of a horror fan and playing the vanilla game was too scary for me. But I sure am glad that I downloaded mods.
It first started with just a few individual mods that enhanced the game a little bit. Added a couple of new monsters to the game, some fun experimental mods like adding custom music to the boombox. Nothing too crazy.
Then it elevated to downloading mod packs, and joining an official server of a Lethal Company mod pack, downloading the newest the recent edition every night. I play close to every night with my friends, unless I have something incredibly time consuming to work on.
You can always depend on Lethal Company to provide some of the funniest moments in gaming. Especially when the mimic begins chasing you back to the ship.
Wizard101
One of the most popular games I played while growing up, Wizard101 is starting to make a resurgence in my life. I played a lot last semester in my free time and I’m so close to maxing out my character, there’s nothing else in my mind. I will hit max level one of these days.
I have spent probably the most hours I ever have on a game in Wizard101 (maybe besides Minecraft). The thing about Wizard101 is that it can be very repetitive, going into each battle with seven spells and farming two hit mobs. I’m too lazy to farm for actual gear too, so I’m running level 100 gear in level 150 battles.
I only have two more worlds to finish, so maybe I’ll write a full fledged article on the Wizard101 world through my experience once done.
The Finals
Another late release from 2023, The Finals has been an essential part of the games my friend group cycles through every day. The only disadvantage is that The Finals runs groups of three, which often leaves my friend group splitting into two or three groups to play together as not to leave someone out.
The Finals is super fast gameplay, but also super team-oriented. There’s three classes: Light, Medium, and Heavy. Each class has their own advantages and disadvantages, so you can never try to go in alone. It’s something unlike anything else in our game playlist, and I love it for that reason.
I haven’t had any games released in 2024 on my playlist just yet, but when I do, I’ll add some more here.
Today’s cover image is my frog Willow from 2023, looking nice, healthy, and plump.
