It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve last posted. The reason for the lack of posts has mostly been due to long days at work, and busy days off. The last days off I’ve had were going to Boston and to Lake Winnipesaukee. Before that, I think I was just so exhausted from working so much that I wanted to melt away in bed. But now that I have an actual day off, I didn’t know what to write about. There’s so much to write about, but so little I want to talk about. It’s a common problem I struggle with. So today, I think I just want to talk about a few projects I’m slowly working at and hope to finish (maybe not release just yet) in the coming months.
Angel Wings
If it hasn’t been known, let it be. I’ve been writing a novel for the past couple of years, but only recently has it really taken off in terms of writing. I started the project in 2022, but it sat in the back of my mind for a while until I really was motivated to publish a full-length novel, seeing all of my peers releasing their personal projects. I’m currently 4/5 done writing the novel itself, so I hope to finish writing all of the content by the end of June. Then I plan on spending the next months on editing, both giving myself time to edit and allowing a trusted girlfriend to look through it. After that, the final months of the year, I want to work on marketing it (and myself) and hopefully publishing it by the start of 2025. I’m still undecided on self-publishing or traditional publishing.
Short Stories
I’m working on an arrangement of short stories, which I hope to publish in a collection of short stories by mid-2025. The timeline is ambitious, to say the least, but I think I can get it done. I already have a couple of finished stories, and I hope to add a couple more to have enough for a collection.
One story, that is completed, is set in the late 1800s and focuses on an oilman serviced to purchase land from the previous owner due to speculation of oil on the property. Another focuses on a small Northern town that deals with an unfamiliar foe, a crocodile. The last story, of the completed bunch, takes the perspective of a man who takes a new life approach after contracting cancer. These are just the completed bunch, and of course are very sparsely detailed, to add some interest in reading. What fun would it be if I gave away the plot?
Among the other stories currently in progress: a man dealing with a skeleton reanimated, someone dealing with the difficulty of being solely imaginary, and a character that can will anything into existence by speaking with the writer himself. A lot of these projects are meant to stretch the boundaries of writing, as well as being hard topics to write.
Poetry
As much as I dislike writing poetry myself, because I can never find that deeper meaning, I still dabble in it time to time. I spend about 75% of my work day alone, and with that time alone, my mind can wander. Sometimes I’ll see something on the road and get a glimpse of what poem could be, or a conversation I have with a customer resonates within me something deeper.
For example, I saw a skunk dead in the middle of the road one day (not at work). Something about that image, the black and white and life and death really struck a chord. I made sure to write a couple of notes down, so at minimum, I didn’t forget what I was thinking. A poem has yet to come out of it, mostly because I can’t find the right words, but it’ll come sometime soon.
I don’t think I’ll ever release a book of poetry, simply because I’m not well-versed in the field. I may be more likely to share the poems on this website, for free, because I wouldn’t want anyone to pay to see my poetry. It’s that bad.
All in all, I have a big and bright future planned for myself. Now, most of the effort is on me to start writing. There’s never been a better time to start working on making a name for myself, and if I truly want to make a living by writing, I need to get on that, stat. Thank you for reading all of this, and I hope to the three people that see this, you look forward to what’s next!

I look forward to being moved by your creations!
You’re a great storyteller. Good fun ahead!
